Kasira Cheeppensook

Meet Ajarn Kasira Cheeppensook, a distinguished scholar of international relations whose teaching encourages students to explore how norms, identity, and human security shape global affairs. Her work highlights the human dimension of international politics, showing how ideas and institutions influence state behavior and regional cooperation.

Ajarn Kasira’s academic background spans some of the world’s most respected institutions. She earned her Ph.D. in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an M.Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and graduated with First-Class Honors and a gold medal in International Relations from Chulalongkorn University. This strong foundation allows her to guide students through complex theoretical debates while connecting them to contemporary global challenges.

Her teaching and research focus on high-impact themes such as international norms, learning processes in international organizations, human security, and human rights. She is particularly interested in how institutions internalize new ideas, how states learn from one another, and how human-centered perspectives reshape modern understandings of security. Her scholarship is valued for its conceptual clarity and its ability to bridge academic theory with real-world policy relevance.
