Bhanubhatra Jittiang

Meet Ajarn Bhanubhatra Jittiang (Kaan), one of the most inspiring members of PGS with whom students will have an opportunity to learn.

Ajarn Kaan teaches and researches some of the most urgent global issues today, from refugees and forced migration to humanitarian action, human security, and international affairs in the Global South. He brings rich academic experience from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and The George Washington University, and he is also a proud First-Class Honors graduate of Chula’s International Relations program.

His work is widely cited, appearing in respected journals and influential regional reports on refugee protection, the Myanmar crisis, and human rights in Southeast Asia. With Ajarn Kaan, students do not only learn about global problems. They gain a deeper understanding of people, societies, and the human realities behind policymaking.

Ajarn Kaan also serves in several key leadership roles. He is Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and International Affairs at the Faculty of Political Science, Director of the Nelson Mandela Center at the Faculty of Political Science, Thailand’s Representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights for 2025 to 2027, and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on strategic civil society policy.
