Entry Requirements

1. GPAX

Applicants must be studying in or have completed Grade 12 or Year 13, or hold an equivalent upper-secondary qualification recognized by Chulalongkorn University.

Before applying, applicants using GED, IGCSE, IB, or another international qualification must obtain a Degree Equivalency Certificate from Chulalongkorn University’s Academic Testing Center (ATC). For more information, please visit https://hsces.atc.chula.ac.th.

2. SAT Requirements

The score report must be issued no more than two years before the application submission date.

• Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW): Minimum score of 500

OR

• Composite (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math): Minimum score of 1,200

3. English Language Proficiency Requirements

The score report must be issued no more than two years before the application submission date.

Option 1: IELTS Academic

• Overall Band Score: Minimum 6.5
• Each Band Score: Minimum 6.0
• IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted.

Option 2: TOEFL iBT

TOEFL iBT

• Overall Score: Minimum 90
• Minimum score for each section:
  • Reading: 22
  • Listening: 22
  • Writing: 21
  • Speaking: 22

New TOEFL iBT (2026+)

• Overall Score: Minimum 4.5
• Minimum score for each section:
  • Reading: 4.5
  • Listening: 5.0
  • Writing: 4.5
  • Speaking: 4.5

Other TOEFL score formats are not accepted.

Note: Applicants with an IELTS Academic overall score of 5.5 may be considered for The University of Hong Kong, subject to pathway availability and the partner university’s conditions.
